Exactly which documents you need

UAE resident: a valid Emirates ID + a valid UAE driving licence + a credit card. Visitor/tourist: a passport + your home-country licence + an International Driving Permit (depending on nationality; some nationalities are accepted on their national licence directly) + a credit card for the deposit. GCC nationals: a GCC licence is usually accepted. If you are unsure whether your licence qualifies, send us a photo of it on WhatsApp and we will confirm acceptance immediately, before you book.

Deposit and insurance — what to expect

A refundable security deposit is held on your credit card for the rental period and is not actually charged, then fully released after the car is returned and any fines or Salik are settled. Comprehensive insurance is included, and an excess remains with you in an at-fault event — which an optional waiver removes. If you would rather not freeze a large sum, ask about our “no-deposit” cars for a fixed waiver fee — a popular choice among visitors and new residents.

What to check before you drive

Before driving, photograph the car from every side and note any pre-existing scratches, and confirm the fuel level, the Salik tag and the insurance document. Test the lights, air conditioning and sensors. Ask about the mileage allowance, the fuel policy and the return time. We go through these points with you at handover, but recording them yourself protects you and makes the return smooth with no dispute.

Traffic fines and Salik during your rental

Traffic fines in Dubai are recorded electronically against the car’s plate, so any violation during your driving remains your responsibility and is settled from the deposit on return.
